Thanks to today’s advances in orthodontic technology, Orthodontics By Bradford can provides our patients with more options when it comes to wearing braces than ever before. While traditional metal braces are still widely used, clear braces are very popular with teens and adults who are self conscious about wearing braces, along with clear removable aligners, the “braceless” alternative to straight teeth. Dr. Bradford will help you determine which treatment option is right for you.
Traditional metal braces are the most common type of brace used today. The metal brace that we use in our office is the Damon System, which is a revolutionary way to straighten teeth. The Damon braces are self-ligating, which means that the braces have a door built into it. These braces are smaller and more comfortable than ever before, and they are constructed of high-grade space age metal alloys. With the Damon System, treatment times with many patients are reduced, while maintaining maximum patient comfort.
Clear braces are made of materials, such as ceramic and polycarbonate, and are therefore less visible on your teeth than metal braces. For this reason, clear braces are used mainly on teenage and adult patients who have esthetic concerns. While they are visually less prominent, they do still require attention to oral hygiene.
